due to title ix and the scarcity of access to rowable water, rowing equipment and coaching: 67% of women whom apply for a seat on a college rowing program, are awarded one.  

this is not to say the 2k erg score needed for one of the seats at the top college rowing programs are not hard earned. the international competition is fierce for both men and women. ​
